Itinerary
Your guide meets you at Kigali International Airport (or your hotel) and drives east to Akagera National Park. Along the way your guide shares local stories and context. On arrival you take a calm sunset boat safari on Lake Ihema. Overnight near or inside
DAY 2 — Full Day Safari Game Drive (Akagera) → Picnic Lunch → Drive to Kigali → Overnight
Your guide picks you early for a full day game drive across Akagera’s plains. Expect steady game-driving time, interpretive stops (tracks, habitats, conservation notes), spotting big five and other wildlife, and then a picnic lunch inside the park. After the afternoon drive you return to Kigali for overnight.
DAY 3 — Kigali → Transfer to Volcanoes NP → Iby’iwacu / Cultural Visit → Overnight
After breakfast your guide drives you north to Volcanoes National Park. En route and on arrival you learn about the Virunga landscape and local communities. In the afternoon visit Gorilla Guardian Village for cultural stories and traditional performances. Dinner and lodge overnight near Volcanoes.
